There's No Stumping Fiction Connection
July 05, 2011
Last week, a patron came into the Kearney Branch in a slight panic.
He had checked out a book for his wife, and she'd loved it. Now, she wanted him to pick up the next in the series.
Problem was, he couldn't remember the title or the author. The only thing he could remember was that the main character was a Greek or Italian, a private detective, and maybe, a woman.
Later that evening, I was telling my husband about how no matter what descriptors you use in Fiction Connection, you can almost always find the book you're looking for, a book in the genre, era, characters, subject and setting you'd like to read.
To prove my point, and because we're nerdy like that, we spent the next 30 minutes trying to stump Fiction Connection. I won't bore or traumatize you with the combinations we tried out, but nearly every time we found at least three books that fit our search. There was no stumping Fiction Connection.
