There's More Than Football and Baseball?

Did the Olympics leave you with a taste for lesser-known athletic events? Are you secretly just not as enthused for the start of the NFL season as everyone else? (Don't worry, we won't tell...) Whatever your reason, why not check out some of the other sports, professional and amateur, we have in the Kansas City area?

Our Major League Soccer team Sporting KC, just won the Open Cup, and still have several more MLS regular season matches to come, including one at home on Sunday, August 26 vs. the New York Red Bulls.

The Kansas City Blues Rugby Club and the Missouri Comets Indoor Soccer team will both be starting their fall seasons soon.

And don't forget our local roller derby league, the Kansas City Roller Warriors. They still have more local inter-league bouts before the WFTDA Playoffs and Championships this fall. This Saturday, August 18, why not check out the double-header of the Roller Warrior's All Star travel team vs. Indianapolis' Naptown Tornado Sirens and our B travel team vs. Arch Rival Roller Girls’ St. Lunachix from Saint Louis?
