There's a Book for Everything

November 09, 2010

One thing I’ve learned since working at Mid Continent Public Library is that there are books written on all kinds of subjects. Some are amusing and some are just, well, out there.

Here’s a list of books that made us cock an eyebrow or run for our library cards:

Cake Wrecks: When Professional Cakes Go Hilariously Wrong
Bad Baby Names: the Worst True Names Parents Saddled Their Kids With-- and You Can Too!
Signspotting: Absurd & Amusing Signs From Around the World
Screwed Up English: Twisted Translations of the English Language from Around the World
Darwin Awards
Dozens of ways to Repurpose Tea Towels
Alzheimer’s for Dummies
Fancy Coffins to Make Yourself
Crying: the Natural and Cultural History of Tears
101 Uses for a Jack Russell
How to castrate a bull

And last but not least:

How to Read a Book

Your blog brought tears to my eyes it was so funny! Now at least I know there's a book that I can read about that (Crying: The Natural and Cultural History of Tears)...
