Theo's Horse Picture
September 19, 2010
At the Antioch Branch, we have some of the best customers in the city. It really is an honor to serve in this community. We have been given hugs, granola bars, plants, and mixed nuts, just to name a few things. We are shown gratitude in a lot of ways.
On Aug. 3, 2010, one of our young customers made our day. The day was extra hot. Our program, Horse Hooves in the Grass (at the library), was outdoors since our program room doesn’t really accommodate a real, live horse. In spite of the heat, lots of children, parents, and caregivers came out to learn and meet Maverick, one of the residents of Sunset Trails Horse Stables.
Before the program, Theo approached me at the desk, along with his mom, who told me he wanted to give us a picture he had created for “all of the librarians”. Such a sweet gesture reminds me why I love what I do. When I go home at night, I am proud of what I do and glad that I can touch the lives of so many wonderful people.
Thanks, Theo, for making the day great, and for the beautiful artwork!
