Thankful For My New Puppy
November 29, 2010
Not only did I have all the yummy food, holiday spirit, and time spent with family to look forward to this Thanksgiving weekend, but I also had the anticipation of picking up my new puppy. I’ve been waiting several weeks for her to be old enough to leave her mom and other siblings to come live with me at my house, and the day has finally come: tomorrow!
I’ve used several of the library’s resources during my pet search. I researched several different breeds before deciding on one. It was helpful that the library offers books on training, housebreaking, and socializing your new puppy. In addition, there is more information under Online Resources on our website, a link for Pets. I found helpful websites that helped me puppy-proof my home, such as a list of toxic plants found at the ASPCA website.
You can also look up information on your pet’s prescriptions on VetCentric, find natural dog food recipes at VetInfo, or ask questions about diseases and health on VetrinaryPartner.com.
I’ll let you know how everything goes, but hopefully I have a good foundation thanks to the resources at the library!
