It is telling that no dog ever took credit for this song. No Doberman or Australian Shepherd has ever come forward.
It is hard to believe that this was the first song sung in space. In 1965, Gemini Six astronauts, Tom Stafford and Wally Schirra, snuck the classic rendition of Jingle Bells into their broadcast after making this annoucement:
"We have an object, looks like a satellite going from north to south, probably in polar orbit... I see a command module and eight smaller modules in front. The pilot of the command module is wearing a red suit."
