Teens Love Books
October 14, 2011
They hate ‘em too. They get excited, bored, intrigued, angry, inspired, depressed, amused, and confused by them. At the Kearney Branch, we want to know what our teenaged patrons really think about the hundreds of books they read. With their help, we’ll find out during Teen Read Week, Oct. 16th – 22nd.
To celebrate this American Library Association national event, we’ll provide bookmarks for every teen checking out books that week. On the back is a book review form. They’ll read, review, turn in the bookmark, and be entered in a drawing for a cool prize. Every bookmark they turn in, enters them in the drawing! .
We’ll compile all of our teen reviews next month, and put up a display featuring Kearney teens' most popular titles.
If you’re a teen, come in this week during Teen Read Week, and let the world know what you think about the books you love…or hate!
Anybody can read and write book reviews on our web site too! Just click on the review tab under the picture of the book cover in the catalog. Find out what people in libraries all over the country think before you check out a book. After you read it, let them know your opinion too.
