Teens @ the Library

Why did the birdie go to the hospital? To get a tweetment!
At our Monday Night Teens at the Library club, we have a great time. We meet every Monday night here at the Library and have between 5 and 20 teens show up for food, fellowship, and fun. One of the "requirements" I have for them is that they have to teach me something or tell me a clean joke. A lot of times they "forget" their assignment, so I have to help them along. If I share a few things, it usually jogs their brains so they can keep it going.
This week I have discovered the National Geographic Kids series in our juvenile nonfiction department. The two I have to tell you about are Weird But True! 300 Outrageous Facts and Just Joking: 300 Hilarious Jokes About Everything, Including Tongue Twisters, Riddles, and More!. One of the tongue twisters goes like this, "Buy blue blueberry biscuits before bedtime." Try to say that 3 times fast!
Here’s a few amazing facts from Weird But True!:
- A mouse can squeeze through a hole the size of a piece of popcorn. (Oooo Gross!)
- Strawberry and chocolate covered Cheetos were sold in Japan. (Nice.)
Barbie’s full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts!
If you know any teens in South Blue Springs that are looking for something fun to do on Monday nights at 7:00 p.m., send them over to our Library! We have a blast.
