Teen Read Week

October 16, 2012

Happy Teen Read Week! This year's theme is "It Came From The Library." We're celebrating with a display of books that feature creepy creations. Vampires, werewolves, zombies, and other unnatural things are waiting within the pages of these awesome thrillers. So, what are YOU waiting for? We invite you to take one of our suggested reads, or browse the Young Adult section for the new best book you've ever read.

Need a challenge? Try a book that's a little above your reading level. Try a new genre. Trade out an extra hour of TV for an extra hour of reading. Plan to join us for our next Teen Book Club meeting on November 20th. You can pick up a copy of next month's book at the Youth Services desk, and start reading it now. We'll be covering Little Brother by Cory Doctorow, by the way. We'll also have literary scavenger hunt forms at the desk. Follow the clues, complete the hunt, write down the code you'll find at the end, and win a free book! We've got lots of" hot off the press" titles to choose from.

Reading is always worth it, but it will DEFINITELY be worth it this week. Has your curiosity been piqued? Are you dying to know what else we might have in store? Then, make sure you spend some time in the YA section!
