Teen Green Projects at the Lee's Summit Branch
March 04, 2011
It’s almost time for Green Projects again! This time, we’re cleaning out our closets to make two brand new (and super cute!) accessories: A beautiful recycled headband and a funky recycled necklace.
And what, you ask are we cleaning out our closets for? Both of these projects are made from fabric reclaimed from unwanted clothing, namely old ugly sweaters and old nylon tights. I think every girl out there must have at least one pair of tights that she thinks are too cute to throw away, but that have a run in them tucked in the back of a drawer somewhere- so, this is the perfect to opportunity to do something useful with them. As for ugly old sweaters, I bet we can all think of at least one that needs to be put out of its misery…
Come make your own recycled accessories Tuesday, March 8 at 6:30p.m. Feel free to bring your own old tights/sweaters to cut up and craft with if you have them, but don’t worry if you don’t. We’ve got plenty of materials to go around (an d yes, everything has been very thoroughly washed). For teens, please register.

Spring Cleaning
This is a good way to get rid of stuff you don't use anymore.
