Survive the Late Summer Seasonal Allergy Epidemic
September 11, 2012
I have read that the last several years have been particularly bad for seasonal allergy sufferers, with pollen levels at all-time high recorded levels. Why? It seems to be due to a variety of environmental issues; warmer climate world-wide, overplanting of some plants, etc. The famous Dr. Oz has many tips for surviving seasonal allergies. Here are just a few.
- Cool eye compresses help
- Wear large sunglasses that sort of "surround" your eyes to help prevent pollen from entering into the eyes.
- Wash eyelids and shampoo hair in evening to remove pollen from the day's activities. This will keep the pollen off your bed sheets and help you intake less while sleeping.
- Avoid sticky hair products and wear a large brimmed hat to keep pollen out of your hair.
- Exercise indoors.
- Do not dry clothes on an outdoor clothesline to avoid pollen from settling into your clothing.
