May 16, 2013
It’s that time of year again! Time for school to let out and summer fun to begin! With that comes the Library’s annual Summer Reading Program! This year the program will begin on Monday, May 20th and end on Wednesday, July 31st. This program is for ages birth to 20 and has three different levels:
Listeners (Ages 0-6) will need to have 24 books per list read to them. Three lists can be completed for 2 free books and an extra special prize such as a hat, book bag, and more!
Readers (Ages 6-11) will need to read for 360 minutes per list. Three lists can be completed for 2 free books and an extra special prize such as an art kit, sand pail with Frisbee, and more!
Teens (Ages 12-20) will need to write a 25 word book review on each book they read. They can submit up to 25 book reviews to exchange for teen bucks that will allow them to "buy" special prizes such as books, a messenger bag, a media charger, and more! Teens will also be entered into a grand prize drawing for each review they submit to win a FREE Kindle Fire HD!
You can sign-up NOW online by clicking HERE. Don’t forget to come by the Library and see the new displays that have been created in the Children’s and Teen Sections of our library! The Teen’s theme this year is "Beneath The Surface," and their wall is being created now with an underwater look. The Children’s theme is "Dig Into Reading," and their corner is being made into an underground cave!
