Summer Is (Officially) Here!
June 20, 2011
Tomorrow, June 21, marks the official beginning of summer! In the Northern Hemisphere, summer begins with the summer solstice, which occurs at precisely 12:16 PM, June 21, 2011 here in Missouri. However, in the Southern Hemisphere, this day is the beginning of winter!
Don’t forget to take a short break from all the fun outdoor summer activities and head down to the library to get a few good books or movies! If you haven’t already, get the kids signed up for the Summer Reading Program! Or, join us here at the Edgerton Branch at 10 a.m. every Wednesday this summer for fun programs for the kids. Here is what we have coming up:
All About Anansi (June 22)
Cool Cats: The Rock-N-Roll Accordion Band (June 29)
Horse Hooves in the Grass (July 6)
Fold and Cut Stories (July 13)
Dinosaur Day with PaleoJoe (July 20)
Exotic Animals R Us (July 27)
Family Movie at the Library (August 3)
We look forward to seeing you!
