Summer at the Dearborn Branch
June 11, 2012
If you walked into the Dearborn Branch on the morning of June 5, you would have seen children mesmerized by self-proclaimed "balloon-atic" Larry MacDonald creating animals, hats, and crowns from long, thin balloons. He handed out balloons to the children, and as they followed his instructions, dogs and hats emerged with a twist of the wrist. Oohs and ahhs were heard as he created teddy bears holding hearts and a crown for a princess.
As he demonstrated, Larry explained to the children how he started making shapes with balloons as a child, and the equipment he used during his presentations. For an hour, Larry entertained and delighted the children and parents with his balloon antics and sent all the children home with their own balloon creations.
To attend the fun programs Dearborn has scheduled this summer, check the Access Guide or our website. Registration is encouraged.
