Storytime Connection
August 24, 2012
Ah, the quiet. You may enjoy it, but we just don't know what to do with it. Despite the old stereotype of the librarian shushing excited children, libraries generally aren't like quiet places anymore. We have programming for adults, teens, and kids. That can be movies, music...the occasional parrot, but it's rarely followed by shushing.
But right now, it is quiet. What can I say? With the kids back in school and shift in weather seemingly moving from summer straight to fall, we're left with downtime.
Friends, we do not do well with downtime...
Fortunately for us, the downtime is almost at an end. As the school year gears up, so too do we return to storytime and business as usual.
Our branch hosts Preschool storytime for kids age 5 and under on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m., and they resume in September. We have taken a few weeks off in August, but storytime will resume on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. For the month of September, storytime will be celebrating Building Block Award nominees. The following is a list of the September storytimes and the Building Block Award book we will be celebrating on each day.
September 6th – Is Everyone Ready for Fun?
September 13th – If You’re Hoppy
September 20th – Rrralph
September 27th – Dog in Boots
And for those working parents out there who cannot make a 10:00 a.m. storytime—never fear! The first Thursday of each month we have Family storytime for all ages at 7:00 p.m.
We hope to see everyone soon!
