Start a Smorgasbord!

If you read the Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson and thought, "Boy howdy... now what do I read?", then we can help you go all Swedish, all the time. Several authors are shipping their written words to our shores from Sweden, especially over the last ten years or so. Kerstin Ekman, Maj Sjowall, Per Wahloo, and Hakan Nesser are all Swedish crime-mystery authors who have titles on our shelves. One author, Henning Mankell, has gained notoriety in North America with the recent PBS presentations of his mysteries featuring Kenneth Branagh as Detective Kurt Wallender of Ystad, Sweden. In October, PBS will have three new Wallender movies on Masterpiece Mystery. So load up the smorgasbord and settle back with a good read from the land of the midnight sun.
