Springtime Gardening
March 13, 2013
The first day of spring is this Wednesday, and to quote Bambi, I’m "all a twitter." It’s my favorite season, and I so look forward to leaving the cold, grey days of winter behind. Besides the increase in daylight and warming temperatures, the new buds and unfurling leaves of fresh spring plants are what I really enjoy.
I can’t wait to take my yearly trip to the nursery and pick out a few plants for our deck and windowsills. We don’t have much of a yard to speak of, but I try to bring spring to our home with potted plants. I usually pick up a couple of container gardening books from the Library or browse the Gardening, Landscaping, and Horticulture Collection database to get ideas, and then I get out my gloves and pots and get started. Soon I’ll have a colorful oasis in my back yard and plenty of plants for my cat to nibble on.
So, is spring a "pain in the pinfeathers," as Owl would say, or are you ready for the next season?
