Sparkle in Theatres August 17th

Sparkle returns to the theatre this Friday starring American Idol Jordan Sparks, another in the long list of Hollywood remakes. This project was Whitney Houston’s dream project. She saw this movie as a teen and loved every bit of. It took her 10 years as the executive producer to see the film made.

Those of us who saw the first film have high expectations. And for those of us who heard the original soundtrack, the expectations are even higher. The original soundtrack was written and produced by Curtis Mayfield with Aretha Franklin providing the vocals. You can get the original here and request the soundtrack via WorldCat.

One thing you can say about Ms. Houston is she set high goals.

I hope it is every bit as entertaining as the first.
