SOUPER Soup Drive
December 26, 2012
The Blue Ridge Branch is sponsoring a SOUPER Soup drive beginning Thursday, December 13th and ending on January 31st. We want to encourage our visitors to pick up a few extra cans of soup at the grocery store and drop them off at the Library on behalf of the Community Assistance Council.
Children who come to storytime on Thursday mornings are especially encouraged to bring in cans of soup. In doing so, they will receive recognition in the form of a special sticker placed on a soup can decoration in our program area. You can bring soup cans to our branch during our regular business hours. Periodic updates will be posted on the branch page to let you know how many cans have been donated. Please consider posting this flyer on your Facebook, Twitter, or other social media accounts to help us spread the word about this!
Why soup? It’s inexpensive and flexible; a can of soup can be used in a variety of different ways to make tasty meals. You can find some great soup cookbooks in the area of 641.813. You can also find a variety of inspirational Chicken Soup for the Soul books by using that as a title search in our online catalog.
