Do you need to finish up (or maybe even start on) your Christmas shopping list? Many hot items on everyone's Christmas wish list this year are electronics. These items might include cell phones, computers, flat screen televisions, GPS devices, Blu-ray players, MP3 players, E-book readers, and PlayStation consoles.
There are so many products out there, and it's difficult to know which one is the best one to spend your money on.
Never fear, the library is here! Mid-Continent offers library cardholders access (from home) to our Consumer Reports database. You can access this from our home page; click on the "Online Resources" tab at the top of the home page. On the left hand side of that page, click on "Research Databases." You can view a list of all databases in alphabetical order, or you can click on "Magazines and Periodicals." Either way, you will find your way to ConsumerReports.org.
The online Consumer Reports looks very much like the print version that you're used to seeing. They test all types of products, and they are an independent and impartial organization. You will be sure to find test results for any kind of holiday gift you may be considering for purchase. And, you can feel assured that you're buying the best product to fit your needs.
Now...if only I could find a database to help me create more hours in a day!
