Slow Cooking for the Super Stressed
December 08, 2013
I am a busy person. I am a newlywed, I work two jobs, and I'm a full-time graduate student working towards a Masters in Library Science. With all that going on, it can get quite stressful. I love to cook, but at the moment, I really don’t have time to make an elaborate gourmet meal every night (much to my husband’s disappointment)! Most of the time, I don't even want to come home and cook at all. I have come to rely on my crockpot for many of our meals. Can I just say, I LOVE my crockpot! Who’s with me?? It doesn’t get much easier than that!
I get a lot of recipe ideas from Pinterest, but there are also many slow cooker cookbooks available from MCPL that I have found some really good recipe ideas in. Most of the recipes I have tried have become our favorites. There are just so many things you can do with your crockpot!
Here are some of my favorite slow cooker cookbooks that you can place on hold:
- Taste of Home Slow Cooker
- Taste of Home Slow Cooker Favorites
- Taste of Home New Slow Cooker: The Best Recipes for Today’s One Pot Meals
- Six Ingredients or Less Slow Cooker
Notice there are several Taste of Home cookbooks? I think they are awesome! I love checking out the Taste of Home Magazine on Zinio, which you can access for FREE through MCPL! Zinio is amazing. In fact, it’s saving me some money, which makes my husband happy. Since I can get a digital copy of Taste of Home Magazine for free from Zinio, I am letting my print subscription run out. If I see a recipe in the magazine I want to try out, I can just print it off!
