Q. In which city did the ice-cream cone first become popular?
A. In St. Louis in 1904, at the St. Louis World’s Fair.
It was sold at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. A waffle was twisted into a cone and filled with ice cream. Story goes, that an ice cream vendor ran out of cups and bought a batch of waffles from a waffle vendor. He rolled the waffles into cones and sold the ice cream in the waffle cones.
