Self-Checkout at the Library

You are out running errands and want to make a "quick" stop at the library. Maybe, you want to get a good read for the evening because there’s nothing on TV. Of course when you are in a hurry, there is a line of people waiting not only to check out, but also to get new cards and to have the staff do research, so the line is not moving. If only there was a way to check out quickly and not have to wait in line…

Wishes do come true… We have a self-checkout machine here at the library. Located across from the circulation desk is a machine that you can use yourself. Scan your card under the red light, put in your 8 digit birthday as your pin, and scan each book’s bar code. Voila… books checked out with no waiting.
