Scrap Cookbooking

June 01, 2012

In my wildest dreams, I create wonderful scrapbooks. One for each granddaughter, one for every trip I take, oh yeah, one for each child.... You get the picture!

MCPL has some wonderful books that give us great ideas for fabulous scrapbooks: 50 Moments: Scrapbook Pages that Matter Most by Lisa Bearnson, Cookbooking: the Delicious New Way to Scrapbook by Barbara Winkler, and Real Women Scrap: Create the Life and Layouts You've Always Wanted by Tasra Dawson.

No matter how much I would love to have all these scrapbooks, I just can't get motivated to make one.

I just received a scrapbook made by a family friend. My sisters and I went through boxes and boxes of pictures and picked out some good ones. We also went through my late mother's recipe box and picked the ones that brought back those yummy memories. We now have a wonderful scrapbook incorporating recipes, pictures, die cut shapes, documents, and timely quotes. One page even has a copy of gas ration cards from the 1940's.

Now, I know we all have those boxes of pictures lying around. Get busy, check out a book, get inspired, and make yourself a scrapbook. (Maybe I'll do the same!)
