Science on the Loose
July 27, 2010
Last week we had 57 people in our library overdose on science. Who’s to blame for this madness? Society? Programming?
I blame the people at Mad Science. They strolled into the South Independence Branch with an assortment of experiments. Next thing you know, dozens of people are going crazy with science.
Not quite as serious as what happened in a physics building in Columbia a few weeks ago but still a very serious example of the reaction that can occur when you have kids combining with raw science for an hour.
Highlights:
- A Bed of Nails
- Oil and Water Mixtures
- Pencils Stabbing Through Ziploc Bags Full of Water
- The Floatability of Regular Sodas vs. Diet
- A Corn Starch Suspension( A Creation That Is Both Liquid and Solid )
- Many Other Experiments
-Plogger (public librarian blogger)
