Santa-Cali-Gon Days Festival
August 30, 2011
Where can you find the largest annual arts and crafts festival in Missouri? Here in Independence, Missouri of course!
Spanning Labor Day Weekend is the Santa-Cali-Gon Days Festival, which is named after the three trails that originated here: Santa Fe, California and Oregon. It's free to get in, and there's lots of fun for everyone! Three main stages provide entertainment, and there's a midway full of carnival revelry. Add that to the over 500 booths with crafts and food and you've got yourself a great weekend.
The festival, which is held on the historic Independence Square, is open the following hours this weekend: Friday - Noon to 11 p.m., Saturday - 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sunday - 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Monday - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
