A Romantic At Heart: the Best Romantic Comedies
October 28, 2010
Seeing as how I'm a chick, I love chick flicks! I can quote Sweet Home Alabama, "What do you want to marry me for anyhow? So, I can kiss you anytime I want." My niece and I can carry on complete conversations using nothing but our two favorite movies: Miss Congeniality, "I am in a dress, I have gel in my hair, I haven't slept all night, I'm starved, AND I'm armed! Don't MESS with me!", and My Big Fat Greek Wedding, "What you mean you eat no meat? It's ok I'll make lamb." But, I wanted to know what your favorite romantic comedies are? I questioned Howard and Mary Pulley about their favorite romantic comedies.
What classifies as a good romantic comedy?
Howard Pulley: "Short"
Mary Pulley: Playfully hits him and says, "They have to be funny!"
Why do you like romantic comedies?
Mary Pulley: Answering quickly says, "They don’t have so much violence."
What is your all time favorite romantic comedy?
They both answer, The Long, Long Trailer. Howard Pulley adds, "with Lucille Ball." Nodding her head Mary says, "If it has Lucille Ball it’s going to be funny. It’s about their wedding. So, it’s a romantic comedy!"
Recently, the Oak Grove Branch was polled to find out what our favorite romantic comedies are. Here are the top three: Sleepless in Seattle, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and Sweet Home Alabama.
