Roald Dahl
September 13, 2012
It's Roald Dahl day! Great right? What exactly does it mean again?
Roald Dahl is my all-time favorite children's author. He's the creator of characters many of us grew up with. Matilda, James (of Giant Peach Fame), Charlie (as in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), and the Witches are just some of my favorite.
He was born on September 13, 1916 in Whales. Today, Buckingshire, UK is the home of the Roald Dahl museum, which sponsors a holiday each year to celebrate his storytelling. His stories are known for being imaginative, original tales with unexpected endings. For a full listing of Roald Dahl's children's titles, check out his website. A list of our Roald Dahl books can be found at this link here.
Throughout his life, he wrote novels for both children and adults. In fact, he even wrote television scripts for shows like Alfred Hitchcock Presents and Tales of the Unexpected.
So which is your favorite Roald Dahl book? Personally, I love James and the Giant Peach.
