On The Road Again!

Traveling Tammy here!
Last weekend, I joined Mariah and her mother on an elegant outing to visit the Princess Diana Exhibition at Union Station. If you haven’t been, Union Station is an experience in and of itself with stunningly beautiful architecture and many activities to entertain people of every age.
We began our day with a catered High Tea set in an elegant alcove room. We drank Hot Cinnamon Spice in silk sachets (two sugars!) and snacked on unique cheeses such as horseradish cheese and beer cheese. This was followed by a light salad, finger sandwiches that were to die for, and honest to goodness imported English cookies.
Afterwards, we visited the Every Bride A Princess display that is free with the purchase of your Diana tickets. This display features black and white wedding photography and wedding dresses from real Kansas City brides dating back to 1905.
As wonderful as the day started, it was nothing compared to the main event. The Diana Exhibition is truly a celebration of life. Each room is dedicated to a specific period of time, and we saw items from Diana’s childhood, her wedding (the actual dress is on display!), some of her most famous fashions, and the causes she supported. There are also two extremely powerful rooms dedicated to her tragic death, including one filled top to bottom with condolence books from all over the world. For the two hours we wandered through the self-guided tour, we came to know the Princess in new ways.
It was a beautiful experience.
