Retirement, a Full-Time Job?
October 22, 2012
After 16 rewarding years at MCPL, it is time for me to say goodbye. It is with both sadness and excitement that I prepare to leave. The past 10 years at Camden Point as the Branch Manager have been a time of learning, growing, and experiencing the life of this community and the people whom I will truly miss.
My friends tell me that being retired is a full-time job. As I contemplate my more immediate plans, I can see how that may be true. I am so looking forward to cleaning out my hobby room and getting back to building dollhouses and room boxes. Then, there are the grandkids' scrapbooks to catch up on. But before I do that, I have trips to make to see family and friends I have not been able to enjoy as much while working. What great times we are looking forward to, and of course, I will have much more time with my grandchildren! My bucket list of books to read has grown very long. These are just a few of the things on my mental "to-do" list.
Thank you, customers of the Camden Point Branch. Please come by between now and October 31 and share refreshments as we celebrate YOU and the Camden Point staff for making this a great library. I will take with me many fond memories of customers, friends, and staff. I wish you all much joy, peace, and prosperity.
