Ready, Set, Write!
October 26, 2011
I know it's still a week away from November, but for those of you gearing up for Nanowrimo, these last weeks of October are valuable planning time.
What's Nanowrimo, you ask? Nanowrimo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It encourages all writers to try their hand at writing a novel in thirty days. Or, as the official website puts it, National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing on November 1. The goal is to write a 50,000 word, (approximately 175 page) novel by 11:59:59, November 30.
In 2010, more than 200,000 people around the world tried their hand at this, and more than 30,000 made the goal of 50k words by the deadline!
For those internet-savvy and looking for a support group, check out the official site and their forums. And for those of you looking for a local helping hand, check out all that MCPL have to offer in November for writers!
We're having a Teen Writer's Workshop here at the South Independence Branch, and for those looking for some extra support, check out the other write-ins our branches are hosting!
As for me? I'm going to get my last-minute research in, so come November 1st, I can be ready to write!

I need to force myself to
I need to force myself to write the way I used to. I just always find myself telling myself that there isn't enough time...but we all find a way to make time for the things that really matter, so maybe this is the perfect opportunity to get back into things. What type of stuff do you like to write?

That's the same for me. I
That's the same for me. I need to make time to write, so November it is! For me, I love writing anything in the action/adventure genres or fantasy/sci-fi type things. :)
