Ready for Reading with Red Rocket Readers

August 05, 2010

The new school year is quickly approaching and with it comes a fresh crop of brand new readers. Nothing is more exciting than learning to read and every student's success depends on their reading ability. Whether you are looking to help your new reader with extra practice at home or teach them to read yourself, we have a new resource at the library that might help.

Red Rocket Readers are a series of 320 reading books designed and written by teachers to help your child become a more proficient reader. They start with Pre Reader and Emergent Reader Level books and go on to include the Early and Fluency Levels, ten levels of readers in all. Each Red Rocket Reader is 16 pages long and includes colorful illustrations or photographs and big easy to read type. For more information about the Red Rocker Reader system created by Flying Start Books, including the company's story and a complete title list, you can visit them at http://redrocketreaders.com/.

As the new school year starts, please don't hesitate to stop by the library if you have a student who is struggling. Whether it be in reading, history, math, or any other subject, we would be happy to help you find the right resource to help your child become a better student and succeed in school.
