Reading : A Romp Through Raytown

August 12, 2010

Truly, we are a society on the go. In our world of cars, fast food, and hurried schedules, our lives our becoming more and more portable. One of the great things about books is that you can take them almost anywhere. With Raytown’s recent renovation, we have created some reading areas near our large windows to take advantage of our afternoon sunlight. Many mornings, we will see patrons reading  their morning paper in comfort or relaxing with paperback.

The location someone reads can be as varied as what they are reading.  Political opinions by the poolside?  Picture books on the patio? Romances at the Rodeo? Alright, that last one is pushing it, I admit. Where do you read?  Raytown has many wonderful places to read apart from the library.

The “green space” next door makes a wonderful picnic spot for reader and non reader alike. How about enjoying an old fashioned malt while you read at Fox’s Drugs?  You can enjoy a cup of coffee at  Benetti’s while you read your thriller. There, of course, are the community parks here in Raytown. Where are your favorite places to read?

Favorite place to read

Submitted by beege on August 13, 2010 - 3:05pm.

At work my favorite place to read in our breakroom is a nice little out of the way chair in one of the corners that's right next to a lamp. It's cozy.

At home my favorite place to read is in my TV chair (TV turned off, of course!). It's super comfy :)
