Raytown Branch Is Going Green(er)
September 07, 2012
The Raytown Branch has been going green for a while now, but this coming year, we are very actively trying to become even greener. We have been sending a lot of our paper to the shredding company that comes weekly. This also helps avoid any privacy problems from paper left lying around.
This year we are recycling in the back workroom area as much as possible. We have separate containers for cans, plastic bags, and plastic bottles, and cardboard that gets taken to the local recycling company weekly. It's a wonderful team effort. We are saving a lot of space in the landfill, and helping the future environment by what we are doing now.
MCPL has many books on recycling and saving the environment. Some good books to start off with are Green House by Norm Crampton, Easy Recycling Handbook by Dee McVicker, and Don't Throw it Out by Lori Baird.
Have you thought about what you can recycle at home or your workplace?
