Rabbit Season
April 23, 2011
Easter is here. What better way to celebrate than with a rabbit-themed movie? The cult classic, Night of the Lepus, from 1972 certainly delivers the rabbits. The film stars Janet Leigh, Deforest Kelley (Dr. McCoy from the original Star Trek series), Rory Calhoun and a plethora of rabbits. They try to make the rabbits look giant and vicious, but it doesn’t work. No matter how large they are, they’re still pretty cute. In some of the attack scenes, it’s clearly a person in a terrible bunny costume. I personally can’t think of anything less scary than a rabbit, except for maybe a hamster. If you love incredibly ridiculous cult classic horror films that are unintentionally funny and need a rabbit-themed movie for Easter, this is the film for you. If not, maybe you’d enjoy listening to the songs of country music legend Eddie Rabbitt.
