Quilts of Valor Foundation
July 03, 2013
Since 2003, the Quilts of Valor Foundation has become a national grassroots community service effort that connects the homefront with our wounded combat warriors and veterans. QOV quilts are stitched with love, prayers, and healing thoughts. Combat troops who have been wounded or touched by war are awarded this token of appreciation that unequivocally says, "Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and valor."
The quilts on display here at the Smithville Branch were sewn and quilted by the men and women of the Smithville American Legion Post 58 and members of the Smithville Town and Country Quilt Guild. They will be on display here through the month of July and then many of them will be presented to local veterans, honoring them for their service and sacrifice. We hope you enjoy them and encourage you to join us in honoring our veterans.
