Popular Summer Reads

June 06, 2012

Summer is a great time to for kicking back on the front porch with a glass of iced tea and a good book. What should you be reading this summer, you ask? Well, MCPL offers MRA books, which is an acronym for Most Requested Authors. Right when you walk in the doors of the Blue Springs South Branch, you will find a round table (located near the holds area) that offers you many popular choices.

One of the books featured currently is The Mercy by Beverly Lewis. This novel is about two Amish sisters named Hen and Rose who struggle to figure what the future holds for them. This book is a part of the Rose Trilogy. The first two books in the series are called The Thorn and The Judgment.

Our MRA section has something for everybody, so if you are not interested in Amish historical romance novels, perhaps The Drop by Michael Connolly would interest you. This novel of suspense is filled with murder and intrigue. The main character, named Harry Bosch, works two exciting cases for the LAPD. He is one of the most popular crime novel characters.

As for inspirational fiction, House of Secrets by Tracie Peterson may be the right book for you. This novel features Bailee Cooper, who reunites with her sisters when she takes a trip to a summer house. What she hoped to be a peaceful vacation turns into a trip into her past and brings painful memories. Her and her sisters fight to make peace with these memories and restore their faith in love.

No matter what kind of books you are interested in, the MRA section has something for you! Happy reading!
