Poetry Out Loud: It's Probably Not What You Think
September 18, 2012
Every second Thursday, we have a little program here at the branch that we like to call Poetry Out Loud. The last two words are key. While we invite everyone who attends to share (even if what they're sharing doesn't lend itself especially well to the spoken word), we really encourage raw, emotionally charged wordplay, no-holds-barred ranting, and controversial outpouring of wisdom!
If you've written a rap or two in your spare time, Poetry Out Loud is for you! If you've ever responded to an especially challenging time in your life by trying to pin down your feelings in chaotic scribbles, Poetry Out Loud is for you. If you're upset with the way the world is and feel compelled to demand change over complacence, well, you've come to the right place! If you still don't have a solid sense of what Poetry Out Loud is, we invite you to come check it out! You might love it. You might hate it. It's free to find out! All age and experience levels are welcome!
We're meeting again on October 11th at 6:00 p.m. So, stop on by and share!
