Facebook has a lot of faults, I will admit, but the one thing I love is keeping in touch with friends and family that live far away. I have two cousins who are currently undergoing chemo for ovarian cancer. I have had two cousins who went through surgery and chemo for breast cancer. It was nice being able to keep up with them, how they were feeling, and how they were responding to treatment.
It was because of them and the fact that my mother had a lump removed from her breast and underwent radiation treatment that I decided to host a Pink Party at the Blue Ridge Branch. Other branches had done it in previous years and I thought it looked like a great event. There are four branches altogether that are hosting Pink Parties this year. Ours will be Tuesday, October 25th at 7:00 p.m.
The Pink Party is for anyone who has been affected by breast cancer and their family members and caregivers. It offers education, resources, support, free neck massages, free bone density testing and Bunco! Please register for this program and join us in a fun evening.
