Periodically... I Find a Good Periodical
February 13, 2012
It’s amazing what you can find just by checking out a magazine from your library.
Recently, I was browsing through the Midwest Living and ran across an article about a 10K ski event across Chequamegon Bay, Wisconsin to raise money for their local library. The 10K event is called "Books Across the Bay." The track is lined with 1,000 luminaries, and the skiers are greeted at the finish line with hot chocolate, bonfires, chili, and cheering crowds.
All I could think of was how grateful I was to be involved with a large, wonderful library system like MCPL, so I don’t have to go out in the freezing cold and ski across Lake Superior to raise money! As I continued to read through the magazine, I found vacation ideas, recipes, and even some decorating ideas. It’s amazing what you can find while browsing through a magazine.
Along with our periodical archives and our magazines and periodicals research databases, all of the branches in the MCPL system have a wide variety of magazines that you can check out for free. Or, have a seat in one of our fluffy comfortable chairs and just relax and browse!
