Patriotic Art on Display
December 17, 2010
Each year before Armistice Day, the North Platte art students work on patriotic drawings. The school has a special event for Veterans Day, and invites area veterans to the school to be recoginzed. People who come to the event can see the art on display.
After the event at school is over, the art is brought to the Mid-Continent branches in the North Platte District and displayed at the libraries for a short period. The drawings displayed are the winners picked by judges, and the pictures have notes on them that tell their awards, plus the artists' names. It is nice that students can get their art displayed outside of school and can be recoginzed by the community.
All the artworks are done in pencil or colored pencil. We have done this for several years and would like to congratulate the students on their talent. It is a pleasure to help the artists display their work for the community.
