Pass it on

My mom passed her love of books to me by spending time reading with me every bedtime.
Some of my favorite books from that era are Are you my Mother? by P.D. Eastman and A Fish Out of Water by Helen Palmer. I tried to replicate that behavior with my kids, and some of their favorites are Perfect Pumpkin Pie by Denys Cazet and Trash Trucks by Daniel Kirk. There are moments when I have overheard my children making references to their beloved books from when they were young.
That love of books cultivated an appreciation for libraries. Today, I am the one sharing books and making recommendations with my mom. But it is the access to materials outside the Library that excites my kids. Does your family have a book connection?
