Parkville Teen's Awesome Can Art!
April 01, 2011
Who are you?
Where do you go to school?
Park Hill South
What types of books do you check out?
Books about building robots because I’m interested in that, but also because I’m using them for design ideas for the new sculptures I’ve been making.
When did you first start doing art?
I started building stuff when I was two. I am now really into photography and sculpture. (I got a new camera for Christmas; it’s a Nikon L110, and it’s incredible.)
When did you start making art from pop cans?
I started sculpting last Father’s Day. I made my dad a can family.
How did you get the idea to use pop cans for sculpture?
My inspiration was I wanted to make my dad a car out of pop cans and it turned into a family and then from there I have made several things. I am with the green movement, and I try to encourage recycling; this is a form of reusing materials.
What’s one thing you want people to know?
I love and respect the environment, and I wish more people did, too.
Disclaimer: All pop cans WERE harmed in creating this art.
