Parkville Teen's Awesome Can Art!!!

January 11, 2011

Who are you?
Trevor

Where do you go to school?
Park Hill South

Why are you at the library tonight?
For free food and Anime club and to hang out with friends

What books did you check out?
4 books about building robots, because I’m interested in that, but also because I’m using them for design ideas for the new sculptures I’ve been making.

When did you first start doing art?
I started building stuff when I was two. I am now really into photography and sculpture. (I got a new camera for Christmas; it’s a Nikon L110, and it’s incredible.)

When did you start making art from pop cans?
I started sculpting last Father’s Day. I made my dad a can family.

How did you get the idea to use pop cans for sculpture?
My inspiration was I wanted to make my dad a car out of pop cans and it turned into a family and then from there I have made several things. I am with the green movement, and I try to encourage recycling; this is a form of reusing materials.

What are you going to work on next?
I’m currently working on flowers for Valentine’s Day. Then I want to make a giant warrior out of pop cans.

What’s one thing you want people to know?
I love and respect the environment, and I wish more people did, too.

Disclaimer: All pop cans WERE harmed in creating this art. :)
