Overdrive Offers Simple, Easy Kindle eBook Checkout
September 26, 2011
I bought Amazon's Kindle a couple of months ago in anticipation of the day I could checkout eBooks for it from the library.
O.K. I was looking forward to having the books on my Kindle. I was not looking forward to the setup process.
You see, I had already been through the setup process on my daughter's Barnes and Noble Nook eReader. While it was worth it in the end, I can't say the setup process to move eBooks from my computer to the Nook was a totally relaxing experience. (You might say I lost my religion a couple of times before I got it right.)
So imagine my surprise when I checked out my first Kindle eBook from the Overdrive link on our MCPL website, and after some initial account set up, it "Whispernetted" my checkout to my Kindle straight from the Amazon website. (This time my response was a more acceptable Hallelujah!)
Needless to say, I've been happily reading ever since.
If you'd like a walk through of the Kindle eBook checkout experience, stop by and we'll give you a tour.
