Opportunities To Find Answers
September 02, 2010
Summer vacations are over, and the fall programming season has begun at the Grandview branch. Every month we have programs for literally all ages, from babies to adults, and every age in between. I'm not sure everyone knows about the programs we offer for adults. At the library, we believe people should never stop learning and we like to offer as many different opportunities for learning as we can at every age, including adults. This month at Grandview, I am glad to offer three different programs that may be just what you are looking for. Don't forget, registration is required for programming at the library. You can register on our website or by phone at (816) 763-0550.
How can I help my community? The answer to that question may be found in our program, Election Workers Needed on Tuesday, September 7th at 7:00 p.m. If you live in Jackson County, outside of Kansas City, and feel comfortable using a computer and a cell phone, this program will give you more information about election day jobs available through the Jackson County Election Board. You will learn how you can help yourself earn a little extra money, while helping your community at the same time.
Help me, I'm homeschooling! Whether you are new to homeschooling, a long-time veteran, or just thinking about the option of homeschooling, you may have a question or two. If so, bring your questions with you and plan on attending our program, Homeschooling 101 on Thursday, September 23rd at 7:00 p.m. I'm sure our knowledgeable presenter will be able to help, or at least, put you on the right tract to finding your answers.
How can I make my home reflect the season? If fall is a favorite time of year for you and you would like to come up with new ways to jazz up your living space, Decorating for Fall may fit the bill. Thursday, September 30th at 7:00 p.m., we will have an interior designer with us to show us new ideas for autumn decorating.
See? Whether you want to help your community, your family, or just your living space, we have a program at the Grandview Branch for you! If these programs aren't exactly what you are looking for, be sure and look at my upcoming programs on the Events page of our website. New programs are added throughout the year, and hopefully, there will be one there for you.
I love bringing programs for adults and families to the Grandview Branch and I look forward to seeing you at one of them very soon!
