Once Upon A Time...
July 16, 2012
Once upon a time, a group of talented children needed a place to release their creative energy. They searched high and low, watched a lot of TV, sat by the pool, and still did not find a place that could withstand their creativity.
Suddenly, in the distance on Red Bridge and Holmes, there appeared a program that might be the answer to their quest. The Red Bridge Branch was searching for brave young boys and girls, age 6 to 16, to take on the adventure of a three day drama camp called The Red Bridge Players.

The young adventurers then embarked on mythical journeys far and wide. They became farmers and knights, minstrels and princesses, and dragons and magical skipping pots. They learned about projection, lighting, sound, puppetry, scenery, costumes, and props.

After two days of intense training, they fulfilled their quest by performing their acts of valor courage and whimsy to the delight of their family and friends.

In honor of their valiant deeds, the players were treated to a special sneak performance of "Willy Wonka the Musical" by the Blue Springs City Theatre’s troupe. And there was much rejoicing.
