Ode to a Doughnut
May 03, 2013
Doughnut, my favorite.
How do I savor it?
Warm from the fryer,
I never will tire.
Your sweet melting frosting
And low rate of costing.
I’m warned you’re not healthy
But with you I’m wealthy.
Worry not of sugar and fat,
I don’t care if I look like my cat.
Doughnut I love you by one or thirteen.
When I have a box, I feel like a queen.
I welcome the day when you are in it.
You are so delicious but gone in a minute.
This poem is long, and I don’t want to bore you.
I think that I’ll stop now, or then I will have two.
