Nora Ephron Curtain Call
July 03, 2012
A prolific screenwriter, producer, and director was loss on June 26, 2012. Her stories have been part of pop culture for many years. From Silkwood to Sleepless in Seattle, she had range, depth, and a family of screenwriters to collaborate with. Her parents (Henry and Phoebe) were responsible for enduring works such as Desk Set and her sisters (Delia, Amy, and Hallie) are noted screenwriters and journalist.
Read the Wikipedia article on her and you will find; there was family, 3 marriages, and knowledge of Deep Throat that made her an enigmatic person. Perhaps, that is why this quote stands out : “I try to write parts for women that as complicated and interesting as women actually are”.
Grab some Kleenex, popcorn, and settle down for a good movie, or perhaps, read some reflections by Nora Ephron. Either way, I’m sure it will be an enjoyable evening.
