On the Nightstand
June 09, 2011
Every time I ask people what’s on their nightstands, I come away smiling. Here are some titles we’re reading at the Blue Ridge Branch. You may wish to try them, too!
- LS is reading The Pact by Jodi Picoult. It's about Romeo and Juliet-style teens and the tragedy that awaits them. She also finished Tallgrass by Sandra Dallas, which was one of our recent book club selections.
- JD is reading Route 66 in the Missouri Ozarks, by Joe Sonderman. It highlights the quaint, memorable and surprising stops along this famous old highway.
- Michelle leads three book clubs at the Blue Ridge Branch, so she’s always finishing something! Today, she’s finishing The English Assassin by Daniel Silva, which is a Mystery Book Club selection. Her "on deck" audio is Doc by Mary Doria Russell. The title character is the legendary Doc Holliday, so you know Wyatt Earp’s included in the story. A good review led Michelle to this one. Sounds like my kind of book!
Call us at the Blue Ridge Branch if you need help placing any of these items on hold, or would like to investigate our book club programs.
Thanks for reading,
Geri H.
